Welcome mere mortals to the blog, what it is? I, Freddie Robot, being programmed with superior wisdom and good looks, will attempt to guide and stimulate your easily bruised brain towards intellectual nirvana. Thankfully you are one of the more enlightened feeble-minded humans because you have sought out my superior intellect, making my programmed task all the more easy and I will speak slowly, realizing that you are an inferior being. Now read on and be prepared to reach a level of understanding never before achievable with just a human brain. The mortgage industry doesn’t compute? Using my incredible abilities to access vast amounts of irrelevant information found on the Internet, I have determined that the prime rate charged for a home loan is 6.25%. However, this rate is almost never awarded. Rather a rate of 6.5%, for what is called a 30 year fixed loan, is the normal interest rate given unless you have more money than the follicle challenged Donald Trump (come on, not even humans are dense enough to believe that hair) in which case any dollar amount will be loaned with a nearly non-existent interest rate. Mortgage companies, or “bolt holes” as my superior programming classifies them, claim to have many options for the would-be loan consumer. For example: a 40-year fixed rate mortgage loan that charges a higher interest rate will result in a higher monthly payment over a longer period of time. Perplexing? Or maybe an interest only loan? This results in a much higher interest rate and saves the consumer only 50 to 100 dollars on their monthly payment, all the while paying nothing to principle. At this point I suspect that your fragile psyche is reaching the point of implosion. Fear not weaklings, I am programmed to be superior and make sense of the nonsensical. Achieving true understanding of something as shallow as a “bolt hole” would not be possible were it not for my unbelievable wisdom and great looks. Luckily for you that I, Freddie Robot, have utilized my superior intellect to analyze the “bolt holes” and it is very clear what is happening in the United States. “Bolt holes,” i.e. those who control mortgage companies, are in fact single celled organisms hell bent on world domination and destroying the US economy. Why else would they loan great quantities of money to individuals unable to pay the payments, causing an incredible drain on the economy, criminally reducing house prices, and elevating human stress levels to an all time high? What’s more, the politicians or “slugs” as my marvelously programmed intellect has classified them, sit ideally by while the “bolt holes” foreclose on the dwellings in which you humans seek refuge from the elements. No need to thank me. I am only following my programmed directive which is to make the complex simple, and don’t let it bother you that you never saw the obvious because humans cannot possibly expect to comprehend even the smallest fraction of what I can. At this time I feel it’s necessary to explain that humans don’t do well when subjected to the harsh climates found on planet earth. Your weak limbs and psyche require protection against the elements. This is why it is peculiar to me that humans seek out “bolt holes” for their money and elect “slugs” to legislate and govern their world. On a daily basis, the “slugs” take money away from one group of humans, just to give that money to another group. Typically the other group of humans hate the first group of humans and the other group of humans use the first group of human’s money to create devises that cause great-physical damage to the fragile tissues of the mortal body. It’s a good thing I have superior intelligence, otherwise I would be confused by the last sentence. The point is that a human’s dwelling is quite possibly the most important acquisition they will ever make, so why would the “slugs” seemingly abandon the humans, leaving them to the whims of the sadistic “bolt holes?” Surely the “slugs” could offer some assistance, or maybe retain a portion of the money that they’ve already seized from you humans, and use that to alleviate the dreadful state of the mortgage industry? Unfortunately for the delusional humans who expect assistance, I, Freddie Robot, have found that “slugs” are completely self-serving narcissists, focused only on their own conquests of the world, or of the latest intern. Apparently “slugs” are content to remain inactive, writhing in the slime their repellant bodies naturally create, happy to allow “bolt holes” to cause irreparable damage to the economy and carry out world domination, all the while taking more and more of what you humans call income. Take it from the robot whose abilities, intelligence, and looks are superior to yours, it is what it is, and what it is - is ludicrous beyond even Freddie Robot’s comprehension.
